Its the Real Thing
I watched Brian Matiash painstakingly compose an image of a discarded Coke can on the floor of the Stone Mill a couple of months ago and thought, “this guy doesn’t miss a thing!”
About a half hour later I turned my attention to the only other discarded consumer products on the mill floor. They, like Brian’s Coke can, looked completely out of place in this abandoned floor of the mill. They just had to be shot!
I liked the fact that whoever drank these, took the time to replace the caps and position them for a product shot. Very thoughtful!
UPDATE: Thanks to Brian Matiash for featuring me in his 1S24H series. Brian is truly a class act and an absolute pleasure to shoot with.

April 22, 2010LOVE what you did with this shot. I still haven’t posted my version of the coke can shot – not 100% done with it, suppose. But, you certainly did yours justice. I love how the light busts through the plastic and shows those indented bubbles.
Plus, people can check out how you composed the shot here: http://brianmatiash.com/blog/2010/04/22/1s24h-april-22nd-2010/
