Bolton Emerson Americas: Hammond of Kalamazoo
I know what you’re thinking. And you’re right. The reason I posted this image was to get “Kalamazoo” in the title. Had to do it. Guilty as charged.
Seriously, I saw this grinding machine at the far end of the heat treat shop and knew I wanted to shoot it. I thought it needed a lower vantage point.
When I stooped down and looked through the viewfinder at 16mm, this Hammond of Kalamazoo grinding contraption appeared to came to life. And yes, I adjusted my tool rest to within 1/8″ of wheel before shooting. Whatever that means. You gotta follow the rules.
The metal bars in the background are samples of the knives that are made in this shop.
