Gate A
I kicked off the New Year right with an evening photowalk through Boston’s Kenmore Square section yesterday with Pat O’Brien and Brian Matiash. With temperatures in the 60′s, no wind or rain, we could not have asked for better weather for a January night.
As a life-long Red Sox fan and lover of all things Baseball (except the Yankees) I was thrilled when we started walking around Kenmore Square. Fenway Park is right around the corner. Perfect. Naturally I thought, “We can shoot Fenway!” Then I remembered, Brian is a native New Yorker. I figured I’d have to herd him up there with my tripod, or drag him by my camera strap.
But before I could make the suggestion, the Brooklyn Boy said, “We can walk around Fenway, if you guys want to.”
Done.
The ballpark in the off season, on a winter’s night makes you long for spring.
Jan 1, 1011: Dinner – $25; parking on the street – Free; Photographing Fenway Park less than 2 months before pitchers and catchers report for Spring Training: Priceless.

January 2, 2011Great capture! My home away from home! There’s nothing like Fenway any time of year. You’ve probably already done this, but if you haven’t, the $12 ticket for the tour is well worth it! Next time you’re thinking about a photo walk, keep me in mind.
