Dirty Blonde
OK … I know what you are thinking … “Dirty Blonde” … “SMUTTYsomething” … just a cheap ploy to grow search engine ranking. Sorry, no.
Smuttynose is a great craft brewery out of Portsmouth, NH. They take their name from one of the islands in the Isles of Shoals, located off the coast or Maine and New Hampshire. Dirty Blonde (in case you haven’t guessed) is an ale.
Anyway, over the past few months I’ve been shooting employee portraits, product shots and (most recently) some marketing shots of their sister operation, the Portsmouth Brewery, a wonderful brew pub located in the heart of downtown Portsmouth.
This was one of my favorite shots from the brew pub. Joanne, the (very creative) marketing person for both the the brewery and pub, didn’t necessarily want a shot of the bar’s back wall. It is a big mirror with glass shelves and lots of shiny liquor bottles. It didn’t scream “brew pub.” But through a wide open 50mm lens, it made a perfect backdrop for a shot of a tap handle.
They are not just about beer. The food is awesome. I had lunch there on Saturday after the shoot. Baked stuffed rainbow trout. It was amazing.
