I had a great phone conversation last night with my good friend, Jacques Gudé. It was a long conversation that pulled me away from a couple of things I wanted to get done, but didn’t really want to sink my teeth into. That’s a good thing (procrastination, thy name is Bob!).

Our chat twisted and turned through several topics but pretty much centered on photography and creativity.

During the course of the conversation, I mentioned that I haven’t been out to shoot anything in almost two weeks. It shouldn’t bother me much because I have gone that long without shooting before. But it did bother me because I had plans to get out a couple of times, but blew them off.

So my (10 day late) New Year’s Resolution is simple — Just shoot. Don’t wait to line something up. Go. Explore. Shoot.

Anyway, today’s image was shot just before 2011 closed out. It is from the Steel Fabrication shop in Lawrence.

Absolutely top drawer, Bob! Love the drama and details that emerge as you spend time taking it all in.

Wonderful details which allow the eye to wander through the image taking it all in. Perfect for the B&W treatment as I feel colors would have been distracting.
