The Bunker

A B&W shot to end the work week.

This is from Fort Foster in Kittery Maine. It’s a cool place to shoot. Rocks, surf, sunset view, and old military stuff like this.

Of course a scene like this, shot in February in New England as it was, would normally be shrouded in snow. But this year we have had next to none. And I love it. For this shot I think the bare trees and absence of snow helps add a bit of drama to the shot.

On Another Note:
This is my last post for a few days. I’m off to Asheville, North Carolina to run the Black Mountain Marathon on Saturday (the 25th of Feb). I’m bring my gear and hope to get some shooting in when I’m not running. We’ll see how that works out.

  1. I find military bunkers like this to be captivating and fascinating beyond words, Bob. I just did a big shoot of a similar facility here recently (hitting our blog in the coming weeks) and I find that what’s left to the imagination can sometimes be more powerful to the viewer than what is visible. Love this shot, my friend!

  2. Delightful image, Bob! And good luck on your marathon… I wish I could hop over there to join you (in shooting, not running!)
