Shadows of Stone

Last Saturday Steven Perlmutter and I hosted our final Historic Mills Photography Workshop for the year at the Stone and Everett Mills. It was our first year doing these and overall we have to call it a successful year. We hosted three full day workshops, one evening light painting workshop and three or four free photo walks through and around the historic mills of Lawrence Massachusetts. We met some wonderful people, several of whom attended multiple events. We gained the support of several local business owners including our hosts at the Lawrence History Center and Everett Mills Properties. Most importantly, we had a blast sharing our love for these magnificent buildings. Many many thanks to our sponsors partners and attendees!

We are planning another full day workshop in late winter, probably in March. We will also be doing another light painting workshop around that time, so stay tuned.

So, this image. It is from Saturday’s workshop, shot in the Stone Mill. It is another entry in my B&W mills series.

This is a truly amazing piece, Bob. I love how the shadows add great dimension and drama to the scene, and I can’t stop staring at the natural artistic tension you’ve created with your composition featuring that doorway as a frame into the next room. Absolutely a masterpiece by every definition.
