The Broadway Second Hand store sits in one of the mill buildings in the Malden Mills complex in Lawrence, MA. For 30 years, David has operated the business of buying and re-selling used furniture, tools, glassware, appliances, and…well pretty much anything you may need.
David was kind enough to let me roam the store at will with my camera and tripod – even the areas that are technically, not part of his store. I wandered up to the fourth floor and found an old piano that clearly, has seen better days. David told me its ready for the junk yard.
Lucky for me, he hasn’t made arrangements to get it there yet.

nice one, really like the tones!
Hi Lussier
Thanks for showing me ideas for shots that i would probably walk by, this place must be full of stuff if you were on the fourth floor.
take care

One of my favorite juxtapositions of this shot is how you pit the piano, normally clean and pristine, with the grungy effect of an old antique shop. It’s truly awesome.
So much to love about this photo.
I like the wide, narrow crop, fits the subject perfectly. I also like how the processing brings out the grungy nature of the keys.
One of the best photos I’ve seen in a while. I enjoy where you choose to put your focal plane, and the subtle color shift in the lighting from left to right.
I really like this one – great shot!
