Theater of the Absurd
I love it when friends visit. Its always fun to show them the town, see the sights, maybe go to the theater to take in a show.
Such was the case when Jacob Lucas (live.jflphotography.com) visited Boston on business this past weekend. Jacob is photo Twitter friend who is always available for a critique or a bit of advice. He’s a great guy and a damned fine photographer.
Brian Matiash and I decided to treat him to an urbex shoot at the abandoned school in Western Massachusetts. It was a tossup between driving east and south to Cape Cod for some landscape and foliage, or west for some urbex grunge. Since Jacob is from Australia and currently lives in Seattle, we figured we couldn’t compete in the scenery department, so we opted for grunge.
Visiting this place for the third time, I didn’t expect to advance my portfolio much. I had a “been there, done that” attitude going in. Instead, I grabbed what may be my favorite shot from there.
Great Urbex shot Bob. I love the point of view and vivid color in the other room
Bizarre juxtaposition (yay, I get to use that word twice in 1 week!). As always, beautifully processed.
I didn’t think you would be able to top the previous images from this site, but you did.
Absolutely fascinating – with that red curtain on the sunlit stage framed by the open doorway. Your processing is awesome, too. Mike Tully sent me this link and I’m now a subscriber.
