None Shall Pass
For reasons I can’t quite explain, this image seemed appropriate for a Monday morning.
Its from one of the buildings at the abandoned state school, shot on my re-visit to the location a week ago.
Whether is a play on the old joke, (When is a door not a door?) or an attempt at an actual warning, I don’t know. Well … most likely the former, given that “ajar” is spelled “a jar.” Nonetheless, the almost complete darkness that ensues once you pass is enough to make you think twice.
That is awesome! Great find and shot Bob!
All I can think of is The Lord of the Rings…that scene where Gandalf is fending off the Balrog and warns: “You shall not pass!!”
Great shot, Bob!
Sweeeet find! And I like Heath’s reference 🙂
I immediately thought of Monty Python and the Holy Grail. King Arthur approaches the Black Knight next to a tiny bridge in the woods. I love finding little jokes everywhere, this one is brilliant. Disrepair of the building, dirty brown colors, and perfect light along with “door is a jar”, the door in the background – all are important pieces of this image. Very well done!
Amazing shot Bob! Can’t wait to visit this area with you guys next time you’re in my neck of the woods!
Love the framing, Bob. Nice job processing it.
So oxymoronic and haunting! Nicely done.
