Off Season: The Casino
There is no gambling here. The Hampton Beach Casino takes its name from the 19th century definition of casino: “gathering place.”
Appropriate, since The Casino is great place to see a show, almost year-round. Joe Bonamassa is performing here on Saturday, and Darius Rucker is slated, for Sunday. That ends their season.
I check out their schedule every year. I’ve seen people like Arlo Guthrie, Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes, John Hiatt (twice), Buddy Guy and even Steve Winwood perform here.
Its a wonderful small venue. When Buddy Guy played, he roamed the crowd playing his guitar, then busted out the back door and played a bit outside.
You don’t get that at arena shows.
On a completely different note, today is Veterans Day in the US. Please remember to thank a veteran (and any active military) for their service.
Love this series Bob, yesterday’s image was unbelievable.
Thanks so much, Mike! Glad you like the series. Much more coming.
How did it feel to be one of the youngest people on the boardwalk (again!)?
Damn Bob, you can practically see the folks walking in and out of these images! Awesome work!
Thanks Jim … I’m enjoying these shoots. Looking forward to capturing some winter images in the area.
John, Yes. It takes an empty board walk for me to be the youngest there!
