Off Season: Abandoned

[singlepic id=1219 w=850 float=center]

Let me just say up front, I wasn’t expecting this. An abandoned cottage on Seabrook Beach? Beachfront property? Unheard of.

Of course, I could be wrong. There is, after all, a fine line between abandoned and neglected.

Nonetheless, I ‘found’ this cottage sitting behind a couple of other buildings on the road that lines the shore. It’s small in size, but huge in value. It sits on the beach. A few steps from the front (or back, I guess) and you are on the beach. This derelict cottage seemed so out of place on on a stretch of beach that holds so many carefully cared for cottages.

  1. This could pass for a Dorothea Lange image from the Dust Bowl in the 1930’s! Amazing composition and use of selective focus. This is one of my favorite images that I have seen from you. Well done!

  2. Love the muted tones in this one. I like the selective focus too, rather like the effect from my lensbaby.
