Shine a Light

This week I’ll be presenting a few panoramic images from the mills.
Today’s shot is from the Stone Mill, in case you didn’t recognize it. This mill was constructed in 1846. Like most buildings of that era, it was designed to make full use of daylight. The tall, narrowly spaced windows ensured maximum exposure to the light of day.
This shot was captured in late afternoon a couple of weeks ago. The sun was just low enough to create some dramatic shadow play across the floor.
Random Rock Lyric:
I met a gin-soaked
Barroom queen
in Memphis
What song, what group?
Is that Honky Tonk Woman?
Indeed it is! Of course, in this case, there is no need to name the band. At least there shouldn’t be.
Love this pano, Bob. So simple, but the shadows add a great element of drama to the frame.
No idea on the lyric 🙁
Very nice shot Bob! The shadows are fantastic.
Although the immediate answer for who recorded this would be the Rolling Stones, one wouldn’t be wrong if they guessed Ike & Tina Turner. They recorded it as well (as a cover). 🙂 On a side note … great panorama, Bob!
What a great photo, Bob. Love the lighting and repetitive forms in the windows.
Shot is money. love those shadows from the windows
I will say I am going to miss Boulder, but I love these panos. Looking forward to the rest of them!
Love the contrasting lines created by the sun, very cool pano!
Really dig those shadows Bob, what a great capture my friend!
Can I get extra credit for noting that “Shine a Light” is also the title of a Rolling stones song?
@Mark, extra credit, yes. Because I didn’t know it was a Stones song. Thought it was just the movie. Nice job!
Another great image, Bob. The light patterns falling on the floor are fabulous and I love the overall regularity of the composition.
really nice image – good work to capture the low angle of the sun through the windows.
Nice lines and shadows – how many shots made this one up?
