Something Fishy in the Doorway

Today’s image comes to you through the generosity of the Lawrence Community Works, the owners of the Duck Mill who graciously allowed me to access this gorgeous old mill building. Within a couple of years, the Duck Mill will be completely renovated as part of LCW’s Union Crossing project.
The title is, in part, courtesy of my good friend, Jacques Gudé (you may know him as @fotofreq on Twitter).
Yesterday, Jacques asked me to critique an image he was prepping for his blog. Of course I obliged. I’m
jealous of his work love his work and look forward to visiting his Blog each day. So … he sent me a copy of his new image to get my thoughts.
Jacque’s “Something Fishy This Way Comes” is a shot I wish I had taken. I was especially struck by the framing, which reminded me of the shot above, which I’ve had in the queue for a couple of weeks.
Jacques and I thought it would be fun to post them the same day and cross-link. Be sure to follow the link above and check it out his fishy masterpiece. Spend some time on his site and poke around a bit. You won’t be disappointed.
The two images work perfectly together… I love the mini-collaboration. Great shots.
nice shot – great doors through doors image with the added bonus of the stairs peeping out.
Well, my brother from another mother, what an I say. This is one fish that sure doesn’t stink. I love everything about this, except fir the fact that I didn’t shoot it myself!
Fishy indeed! Digging it!
Man I love the textures and muted tones in this one. Nice work!
Love it! The fish eye is always great. I like how this one has just enough grunge.
that’s a great shot!
