Boston Backlit

Sometimes you just need to get away and shoot something. That’s how I felt at work yesterday. So at the end of the day, I hopped onto the Mass Pike and went straight to the Hyatt Harborside at Boston’s Logan Airport. It has a great view of the waterfront.

My intent was to shoot a high resolution panorama of the skyline just after sundown, which I did. I got there in plenty of time to get set up, level my tripod and wait patiently. But when I arrived the sun was just dipping behind the city. The soft glow emanating from between the buildings was too good to pass up so I hustled to set up my tripod so I could get this shot.

This a seven exposure HDR It was processed in Photoshop and onOne Software’s PhotoTools 2.5. I finished it off with a touch of FocalPoint to blur the foreground.
