Bolton-Emerson Americas: Blade

Here is a detail shot from Bolton-Emerson Americas’ wood shop.
This old table saw has to be over 80 years old. It was manufactured by the J.A. Fay & Eagan Company in Cincinnati, Ohio. Judging from the cast iron labels on so many of the machines at Bolton, I think Cincinnati had to be the machinery manufacturing capital of the world in the early part of the last century.
Anyway, I did find a site, http://vintagemachinery.org/ dedicated to … well … vintage machinery. They had a lot of information about Fay & Eagan as well as many photographs of the woodworking machines they made. Unfortunately, I was unable to find a shot of this table saw. If I had to guess, I would say it was manufactured around 1920.
You can see another shot of it from Bolton here.
Oh, and if you are really observant, you’ll also notice a new look to my Blog. It is still a work in progress. I’m working out some of the glitches, so please bear with me.
And yes, the images are a bit smaller. As always, if you can click on the image it will expand nicely into an overlay for your viewing pleasure.
Great image Bob..Really like the detail! Nice new blog design too!
Great detail shot Bob. The shallow dof works brilliantly.
