The Grand Staircase

Dipping into the archives for this one — the Grand Staircase at the Boulderado Hotel in Boulder, CO. I’m pretty sure I’ve posted it before, but this was re-processed since then and has a different crop.
The Boulderado is a gorgeous old western hotel that celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2009 or 2010. Its signature feature is the beautiful stained glass ceiling 3 floors above the lobby. The rooms in the main (original) section retain the original character, with one of them purported to be haunted.
I don’t remember seeing this before and I strongly suspect I would remember it if I had. This is why they call you the Stair Whisperer, Bob – what a great image. Excellent atmosphere, lovely geometry and beautiful processing.
Bob, this is a magnificent image. Well composed and processed.
Looks like a shot from the movie “The Shining” – beautiful the way you were able to align the image – tonal contrasts are awesome!
Wow, vertigo!
Great shot. Beautifully processed.
finally some time to look at images…this really stands out to me. reminds me of the stairs at Hogwart’s – Harry Potter, only the yours are not moving….superb perspective.
Thanks Chris I think I still owe you dinner. Or at least a beer.
