Fort Fisher

It was hot. This little bend in the boardwalk that wrapped around the Fort Fisher grounds offered some nice shade. So I stopped. Then I grabbed this shot.
Fort Fisher was a Confederate Fort on the mouth of the Cape Fear River in North Carolina and the site of a couple of Civil War battles. Most notably, a failed attempt by the Union Forces to capture the fort on Christmas Eve in 1864.
Love the composition and the way the tree and its shadow highlight the path and the tree in the distance. Cool!
Great shot Bob – love the interplay of shadows & highlights, plus the leading lines are spot-on.
Beautiful image, Bob. Really like the interplay between lights and darks. The image is very well balanced.
Great lines and composition, love the tones and the play of shadows on light
Loving this!
