Stokes Castle Blue


Thought I’d start of the week with the other shot featured in the current print edition of Nevada Magazine.  I posted a page over the weekend with the other image — Rolling into Austin — and a link to my SmugMug gallery where you can buy any of my Nevada Images.

This is Stokes Castle, built by Anson Phelps Stokes, a mine developer, railroad magnate and Banker. It was built  in 1896-97, intended as Stokes’ summer home. Looking at that view of the Reese River Valley, you can see why he built it there.
