Elizabeth Tower

I’ve never been more confused. I grew up thinking this clock was called “Big Ben.” Then I get to London only to learn that the clock is not Big Ben, the bell that chimes every hour is Big Ben. The clock tower itself is St. Stephen’s Tower. At least it WAS, until the renamed it Elizabeth’s tower, in honor of the Queen.

Whatever it’s called, here it is. In black and white. Because I like black and white.

You can click on it to see a bigger version on a dark background.

  1. Nice shot and back story. I too, always thought the tower and then the clock were ‘Big Ben’, not just the chimes. Live and learn. 🙂
