Broadway Tower

These two images go together, so you get a two-fer on this fine Thursday. And I guess Thursday is an appropriate day for these images, because it was the Thursday on my England trip that I took these two shots.

That day was a lesson in perseverance, photographically speaking.  My son, Ryan and I had planned to spend the day driving through the Midlands. The plan was to hit Stratford-upon-Avon in the morning then drive to a couple of villages in the Cotswolds.

But I didn’t sleep well on Wednesday night and wasn’t up for doing much on Thursday. Especially when I woke up to an overcast, drizzly day.  Had I been at home with a day of shooting planned, I might have postponed it. But that wasn’t an option. No matter how I felt and no matter what the weather was, I could not waste the day in England. The opportunity for a do-over wasn’t there. We hit the road.

So above is Broadway Tower. It sits high on a hill overlooking Broadway, and below is a view from the top. The overcast skies and drizzle prevented us from getting the spectacular views we sought, but I can’t complain too much.

  1. Wow, nice. I just watched one of the Harry Potter movies, so I might be influenced a bit. I think they have a very fantasy feel to the images, but perhaps thats just me.
