George is the owner of this mill. I don’t know how long he’s owned it and run the business, but judging from the roll top desk, and lack of anything resembling modern computing technology in his office, I suspect it has been more than a few years.
When I stopped in to shoot his office, I accidentally barged in on George as he was working. I didn’t know George, but he knew me. Well, he knew OF me. His son-in-law, Rob invited me to shoot the mill, with George’s approval.
I felt bad about disturbing George so I apologized and began my retreat. Graciously, he invited me in to get whatever shots I wanted, as long as he wasn’t in them.
This shot had so much character. It’s a look back in time. Nice lighting as well.
No sign of George at all. The details, however, are exquisite! I actually spent a bit of time with this one soaking in all the goodies you’ve captured, Bob!
This is wonderful Bob!! Love the processing too! 🙂
Terrific image! It’s easy to imagine George sitting at his desk, looking up over his reading glasses, taking care of business.
