I made a sweep through the building with the 50mm f1.4, a practice I am trying to incorporate more often. The 50, wide open, can make any subject more intimate — even a grinding wheel.

Anyway … I visited the mill again yesterday morning before work. Probably for the last time. Not that I couldn’t shoot more there, but I think I captured the essence of the operation in my three or four short visits. At least as much as I can, given that equipment and machinery is being dismantled. Yes, this business, spanning decades, is going away.

I’m wrapping up the series tomorrow with my favorite shot from this wonderfully industrial place. I do have a few more images from here. You’ll see them eventually.
