The Pier at Kure Beach

[singlepic id=2109 w=650 h=650 float=center]

I am an absolute sucker for these big wooden piers. And this one, stretching out over the ocean at Kure Beach in North Carolina, is particularly difficult to just walk away from.  OK, maybe it had something to do with the fact I was standing in 50° southern winter weather instead of the 8° New England winter that I briefly left behind last Thursday. Whatever the reason, I was happy to get a couple of shots of it late last Friday.

I would have liked some more movement in the clouds for this 30 second exposure, but over all, I am happy with the shot.

I shot this with the Olympus OM-D Mirrorless / Micro Four Thirds camera, and 12mm f/2.0 lens (24mm equivalent on full frame DSLR). It is a kit that I am quickly falling in love with. The camera is small and light, but with a solid build. At 16MP, the sensor produces spectacular image quality.
