At the Rock
no images were found
I rediscovered this image over the weekend when I was looking for images to convert to Black and White. It is from the Rock of Cashel in County Tipperary, Ireland. The Rock was once the seat of the Catholic Church in Ireland and, I believe, the spot where St Patrick was converted to Catholicism.
Anyway. it was a quick whirlwind tour of the cathedral ruins with my family. I shot everything hand-held (I don’t even think I brought a tripod on the trip). When I saw this image on Saturday, I saw it differently than I did when I shot it over 5 years ago. The Black and White conversion was a natural for it, of course. But the crop was also key to making the final image.
The original is below.

The crop has definitely improved this image. The bright light of the sky in the original draws the eye away from the beautiful textures.
Thanks Mark!
