For today’s image, a something from last April’s trip to Austin, Nevada.
I had forgotten about this shot until I revisited my Nevada archives. last night. This is one that I had passed over initially. Not because I didn’t like it, but because I had a few of shots of Stokes Castle and didn’t want to flood the blog with them all at once. Then I moved on from Nevada images.
About Stokes Castle:
Stokes Castle was built in 1896-97 by Anson Phelps Stokes, a mine developer, railroad magnate, and banker. It served as his family’s summer home for a short time. When you stand here and look out over the Reese River Valley, you can understand why he built it.
