Eastern Point Light

[singlepic id=2245 w=750 float=center]

The word over the weekend was that the Super Moon was going to dazzle the eastern sky when it rose on Sunday night, so Steven Perlmutter, Mike Tully and I set out for Gloucester, MA on Sunday night to capture it rising over Eastern Point Lighthouse. It would be a two-fer. We could shoot the sunset then reposition out on the jetty to shoot the moon.

The first part of our plan worked fine. The sunset was great (though not spectacular) but a wedge of clouds pretty blocked the moon. We left the area around 9:00PM only to watch the moon rise above clouds as we headed out on the highway.

So here is a shot from the more successful part of the night — a long exposure of sunset behind Eastern Point Light.
