The Basin is a small waterfall on the Pemigiwasset River in New Hampshire’s Franconia Notch State Park.
I shot this the same day I grabbed this shot. The steamy weather created a dreamy atmosphere.
The Basin is very accessible. It is a short walk from the parking lot on Route 3. And that short walk is quite pretty, itself.
From the State Park Website:
“The beautiful waterfall at the Basin, has at its base, a granite pothole 20 feet in diameter. It is believed to have been eroded 15,000 years ago while the North American ice sheet was melting. It has been smoothed by small stones and sand whirled around by the Pemigewasset River.”
Killer shot Bob. Love the composition.
Beautiful composition, and the reflection is wonderful.
