I have been neglecting my blog posts lately. I’ve been getting lazy and blowing off Mondays and sometimes Fridays as well. In fact, I’m lucky to get an image op on Google Plus and Facebook on those days. It is due in part to the fact that I haven’t been shooting as much as I would like. Instead, I’ve been going through older catalogs to find hidden gems and to reprocess some favorite images (always a good exercise).
The good news is, shooting drought changed this past weekend in a big way. I spend a couple of hours on Sunday photographing my son, Thom and his fiancé, Jess. I guess having engagement photographs taken is a ‘thing’ these days. Who knew? As you probably know, I don’t shoot people all that much, but in this case I made an exception. I had two good reasons … It saved them some money and my wife made me. I’ll post some images from the shoot later this week.
The other shoot I did is represented in today’s image. I was driving past a local Apple Orchard yesterday afternoon and noticed they were hosting a Drive Night (I think that’s what they call it). The parking lot was packed with vintage cars and 50’s music was blaring through the loudspeakers. What better place to break a shooting funk!
This is a detail of a Ford Thunderbird. Sorry, I don’t recall the year.
Nice one. Car images can be a little mundane sometimes. This is a very interesting take on it.
