Lincoln Memorial

The rule at the Memorial is ‘No Tripods.’ And I was more than willing to obey. After all, the last thing I wanted to do was trip some unsuspecting tourist with an unwieldy tripod leg! But at 11:30 pm the Memorial wasn’t exactly teeming with tourists.
When I shot this back in 2012, I was one of less than half dozen people soaking in Abe’s Aura. So I plopped down the tripod and grabbed this shot. And a couple of others while I was at it.
The Park Rangers were on duty at this late hour, but they weren’t really paying attention. Or maybe they were cognizant of the fact that my flimsy carbon fiber tripod posed no threat to the other tourists.
