Geo L Damon

Well I have to say, I think this is the longest I’ve gone without posting an image to this blog since I’ve started posting images to this blog. Of course, last weekend’s post about the 5 Day Deal doesn’t count!  It was an unplanned but welcomed break from blogging but I’m happy to be back posting images again.

I wish I had gotten out more to shoot during the holiday break, but it was not to be. I managed to sneak out last night for an hour or so to do some night shooting in Lawrence and on New Year’s Eve I spent a couple of hours in the Pacific Mill with the always pleasant Steven Perlmutter.  And that brings us to the first image of 2014.

This gorgeous old safe sits in the old lobby of the Pacific Mill. The new lobby is in one of the other buildings in the complex — one of the buildings that is still occupied. You see, a couple of the Pacific Mill buildings are poised for a transformation from industrial office space to residential space. The building Steven and I got permission to photograph yesterday is one of them.

This huge bank-quality safe was manufactured by George L Damon‘s Damon Iron Works company for the Pacific Mill. Thus the title.
