This is Rocky Gorge, the most easily accessible waterfall along the picturesque Kancamagus Highway that links the towns of Lincoln and Conway, New Hampshire. I shot it last summer during a weekend visit to the White Mountains.
Rocky Gorge is also a pretty popular swimming hole, so getting shot of it that is void of people can be challenging (not that there’s anything wrong with people).
I lucked out in the timing of my visit. Though it was a warm summer day, the people who were bouncing around the Gorge were few and they were pretty spread out. And the 10-stop filter worked really well in ghosting out any souls roaming on the rocks above these rapid falls.
Hey Bob… I’m thinking this isn’t the e-m1 since it was from last year. I left a note in “contact” but maybe you didn’t see it. If you wouldn’t mind, I’d like your opinion on the e-m5 e-m1? I’ve got the x100s. Great camera but I need wide angle and zoom capability. I think you’ve had both the m5 and m1 cameras? I’m leaning toward either one with the 12-40. Little bit of a price difference and you’ve got the long exposure noise thing with m1. How has that worked out for you? Happier with m1 over the m5? I love the ruggedness of the olympus cameras and lenses. They appear to be cameras for the long haul. Great quality. So, was wondering if you could give me your take on those two? I was thinking e-m5 maybe with the additional grip, but then you’re approaching the e-m1 price anyway.
