This somewhat minimalistic shot was captured this past Saturday in the same general area on the Mystic River as yesterday’s Mystic Generating Station shot.

The structures stood starkly contrasted against the light gray sky and with the Olympus 30-150mm f/2.8 Pro lens on my OM-D E-M1, I had ample reach to allow me to frame it properly.

The reach of that lens is equivalent to an 80-300 in full frame terms. It is also significantly smaller and lighter than the Nikon 80-200mm f/2.8 I use on my Nikon D700. Well … DID use. I have not picked up my Nikon for shoots like this in months. And I think it is safe to say that the Olympus will be my go-to long lens from now on.

Yes, my transition to Micro Four-Thirds is pretty much complete.

  1. I really like this, a lot. The minimalist composition suits it very well. If I am to tell the honest truth though, the first thing I thought when I saw it was that they were cell bars on my phone. 🙂

Sort of sad how our technology shapes our thinking.
