Lupines and Dew

I mentioned in my last post that the “good light” was allusive during my trip to Sugar Hill this past weekend. I didn’t mean to imply that there was no magic light at all, or that shooting conditions were a total bust. They weren’t. It was just my timing that was a bit off.

I arrived on Friday and was greeted by heavy overcast and light rain. I shot anyway.

I did not get up at dawn the next morning because my weather app predicted rain through the night and into mid morning. The day turned gorgeous, which fit my plans for a visit to The Moose Rack for an informal portrait shoot (more on that in an upcoming post).

I returned to Sugar Hill at sunset on Saturday under better conditions for a very productive shooting session.

On Sunday morning I woke at 4:00am, trusting that the partly cloudy skies would result in a decent sunrise at Sugar Hill.

They did.
