Day 49: Fishing Shacks and Seagulls
The 4:00AM wake-up call and hour and a half drive to Portland Maine paid off big time today. And as an added bonus, I captured my daily image before the sun came up!
The destination was Willard Beach in Portland and these cool fishing shacks on the point. The trip was coordinated by my friend Steven Perlmutter, who did all the research and convinced me and our buddy Mike Tully to get out the door two hours before sunrise. It was worth every lost minute of sleep. We started here, where the pre-dawn colors came and went in what seemed like a flash.
After we had our fill of the shacks, we made our way to Portland Head Light, a few miles away. We caught the last of the golden morning light there before heading back home.
I’ll do an extra post with additional images in the next day or so.
What is this, some kind of series?
Yes, it is! Throughout 2017 I’m attempting to take a new image every day and post it to this blog. Ambitious, I know. Success is not guaranteed, but I’ll give it my all. You can see all of the images below. Just click on a thumbnail and flip through them.
