Day 70: That Farmhouse
This little piece of Americana is something I would expect to find in rural Illinois or Nebraska, not 15 miles outside of Boston!
I have always been intrigued by this old farmhouse that sits on Rte 2 in Acton, MA. I’ve driven past it many times but rarely stopped to photograph it. The reasons vary, but for the most part it is because this abandoned house sits on a very vibrant, working farm. You can’t really stop to photograph it when the field I was standing in for this shot is filled with crops that are either growing or being harvested. Oh, and there is that “tresspassing” thing as well.
Anyway, with planting season still a few weeks away and with the temperatures on cold side today (0° with the wind-chill!), it was a perfect day to explore the grounds.
Here are my two favorite shots from this very brief, very cold stop today. Above, the house and garage. Below, the same two buildings along with adjacent American flag adorned barn.

What is this, some kind of series?
Yes, it is! Throughout 2017 I’m attempting to take a new image every day and post it to this blog. Ambitious, I know. Success is not guaranteed, but I’ll give it my all. You can see all of the images below. Just click on a thumbnail and flip through them.
