Galen Rupp finished second in the #BostonMarathon today. He lost the race to Geoffrey Kirui of Kenya in the late miles — Kirui pulled ahead at mile 23 and held on.
Both runners, as well as the other 30,000 athletes who joined them on the run from Hopkinton to Boston, battled hot and windy conditions.
I was thrilled to grab this candid moment of Galen phoning home (?) a few minutes after his incredibley strong 2:09:58 second place finish.
There are many more images to come from this incredible day, but I wanted to get this one out today.
What is this, some kind of series?
Yes, it is! Throughout 2017 I’m attempting to take a new image every day and post it to this blog. Ambitious, I know. Success is not guaranteed, but I’ll give it my all. You can see all of the images below. Just click on a thumbnail and flip through them.
