Sunset Point III
There was, we thought, a good chance that the sunset this evening was going to a bust. Behind us to the west the sun had been ducking behind a quickly moving series of clouds that appeared to be thickening. The entire scene was cast in the clouds’ shadow for several at a time. We hoped for the best, but prepared for the worst. The best won out.
We noticed the alpen glow on the La Sal range first. Then the clouds started to light up, and finally, to our delight, the alpen glow engulfed the entire scene.
