Gloucester’s Smoking Sea
Sea smoke is one of my favorite things to photograph. It is also one of my least favorite things to photograph. And I love my friend Steven Perlmutter for dragging me out to photograph sea smoke this morning, almost as much as I hate him for it.
We were on the fence about going this morning. This area saw a steep temperature drop earlier in the week, but neither of us could free up from work to get for sunrise in the middle of the week. The forecast for this morning called for 7° with a wind chill factor of -14°. That would certainly be cold enough, assuming the water temperature was still warm enough. But with the earlier cold-snap, we couldn’t be sure.
We took a chance and we were richly rewarded.
Love the layers of fun in this one, that had to be cold
